Director of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund
Ms. Hoang Thi Hong was appointed as the 1st Director General of SME Development Fund of Vietnam (SMEDF) since May 2014 with background of SME support in Vietnam for over 10 years. She has built up strong expertise in SME support policy development and implementation based on her service at Agency for Business Registration (ABR) and Agency for Business Development (AED), both under Ministry of Planning and Investment. After the first 3 years as SMEDF’s Director General, Ms. Hoang Thi Hong has directed and advanced the organization toward stabilization and step-by-step develop SMEDF compliance with the Laws as well as international standards. To promote SME access to finance in Vietnam, especially credit for SMEs, Ms. Hoang Thi Hong has actively encourage other organizations (including commercial banks) to understand the situation of Vietnamese SMEs and get the banks involved into SME supporting campaigns nationwide. Ms. Hoang Thi Hong also is committed to connecting with international SMEs support organizations and financial institutions to create a comprehensive support network which is not just only about financing but also training and consultation for SMEs. Ms. Hoang Thi Hong graduated with Master of Business Administration from National Economics University, Vietnam.
